clinyserver instructions

what is clinyserver

it's like your own private netflix, hosted by me and free for you. watch shows/movies, and if something you want is missing you add it.

pocketid

every app here logs in through pocketid. it's passwordless, so you use a passkey instead.

first time

1. i'll send you a link to sign up: open it.
2. fill in your details and hit sign up.
3. follow the prompt to add a passkey. save it to your device or your password manager.

every time after

hit authenticate/sign in and approve with your passkey.

if you can't use your passkey

hit alternative sign in methods, then pick either:

• sign in with another device: shows a QR code, scan it with the phone that has your passkey.
• email login: enter your email and follow the prompts. then add a new passkey from your account page

jellyfin

1. install an app on your device
2. open the app and enter the server address: https://jellyfin.cliny.net
3. at the login screen, choose quick connect. the app shows a code.
4. on any browser, go to jellyfin and sign in.
5. click your profile picture (top right), then quick connect, enter the code, and the app logs in.

seerr

1. open seerr and sign in.
2. search for the show/movie you want and hit request.
3. it gets added automatically and shows up in jellyfin once it's downloaded.

something already there but broken? won't play, wrong audio, bad subtitles? open it in seerr and use report an issue.

help

if something isn't working, try these:

• check the status page to see if the server is actually down.
• try another device, or another network (eg mobile data instead of wifi).
• log out and back in at pocketid.
• reinstall the app.
• still stuck? message me. the more detail the better: what you tried, what happened, and any error message.
